Mayuko Miyata was born in Kanagawa (Japan) and started piano training at the age of 5. Having won several competitions during her youth, she decided to move to Europe, the homeland of classical music, at the age of 18. She began her piano studies at the Rostock University of Music and Theatre with professor Bernd Zack. She also studied musical accompaniment with Professor Christian de Bruyn and gained two years of experience as an opera répétiteur. Her love for Chopin’s music took her to Poland for one year, where she immersed herself in Chopin’s piano pieces under the supervision of Professor Lidia Grychtołówna.

Mayuko completed her studies (“Künstlerische Ausbildung”) at the Rostock University of Music and Theatre as well as post-graduate studies in Piano Chamber Music with Professor Stefan Imorde and Mario Alarcón, both with top honours. The music magazine “klassik.com” was fascinated by her “solid finger technique” and the “intensive, subtle variety” of the musician. In 2011, Miyata received a scholarship from the Richard Wagner Society.

From 2011 to 2016 Mayuko Miyata held a teaching position as a répétiteur in violin classes for Professor Petru Munteanu and Professor Liviu Casleanu at the Rostock University of Music and Theatre.
